Workers in the construction industry qualify for long service leave based on their service to the industry, rather than service with one employer. Employers must register with Construction Benefit Services and pay a levy every two months to the Construction Industry Fund. When workers become entitled to long service leave, payment is made from the Fund. Further informationThe CBS website provides an overview of the provisions of the Construction Industry Long Service Act, 1987 and Regulations. The complete Act and Regulations should be consulted if more specific information is required. |
