Taking long service leave

Every day you work is recorded as a day's service towards your long service leave. Once you have 2600 days service, you can take 13 weeks leave in periods of no less than 2 weeks duration each.

Contact Construction Benefit Services when you are ready to take leave. You can receive your payment by cheque or direct into a nominated bank account.

It is illegal to continue working while on long service leave, however you will continue to accrue service towards your next entitlement while on leave.

If you cease employment in the construction industry and have at least 1820 days service, you can receive a pro rata payment.
